As reported by “weszlo.com”, Igor Lewczuk is close to signing for French Ligue 1 side Girondins Bordeaux.
Representatives from France are said to be landing early in the morning to begin negotiations. Lewczuk is currently valued at around 1 million euro, and will probably sign a contract for 2 years, with the option of a 1-year extension. This now brings the number of Polish players in Ligue 1 to 6, as he joins Kamil Grosicki, Grzegorz Krychowiak, Kamil Glik, Mariusz Stępinski and Maciej Rybus.
The news of Lewczuk’s departure also confirms the rumours that Legia are close to buying Jakub Czerwiński of Pogoń Szczecin. The 25-year old central defender has a release clause of 500 thousand euro – an amount that Legia could easily meet.
While Pogoń Szczecin would be legally obliged to continue negotiations if Legia activate the release clause, the final decision is obviously up to Jakub Czerwiński.. But what are the odds of a Pogoń player turning down the Polish Champions? The coming hours shall tell.
